Australia's Jarmila Gajdosova and Greece's Eleni Daniilidou would like to rediscover their then form when they stage their third appearance at the BMW Malaysian Open at the Royal Selangor Golf Club (RSGC) starting April 12-20.
Gajdosova and Daniilidou are the main draw privileged wildcard entries for the tennis competition, which begins with the qualifying round on Saturday.
Jarmila Gajdosova, who will turn 27 on April 26th, has yet to make an impact this season. Her best performance yet was reaching the last 16 in an International Tennis Federation (ITF) event in Burnie, Australia, in January.
The Slovak, who was conceded an Australian citizenship in 2009, made a vital debut in the Malaysian Open in 2011.
She was able to make it on the semi-finals before bowing out to Czech Republic's Lucie Safarova 2-6, 6-3, 3-6. In the accompanying event, she lost 4-6, 0-6 to Daniilidou in the second round.
“I’m so happy to be able to come to Kuala Lumpur. I must thank the organisers for granting me a main draw wildcard.
It has been a tough battle after being down with illness last year and, hopefully, I can rediscover my form and put up a good show here,” the 26-year-old says.
Meanwhile, Eleni Daniilidou, is ranked as one of the women best players from Greece.
A Grand Slam mixed doubles champion in the 2003 Australian Open, Daniilidou has won four tour titles – Hobart (2008), Seoul (2006) and Auckland (2004 and 2003).
The three-time Olympian arrived at the semi-finals of the 2012 Malaysian Open yet lost 0-6, 6-4, 1-6 to final champion Hsieh Su-Wei of Taiwan.
At last year’s event, the Greek player went down 2-6, 4-6 againsts Thailand's Luksika Kumkhum in the second round.
Carbon Sports, this year’s organisers are close to finalising the entry rundown, with Slovakia's world No. 11 Dominika Cibulkova, previous world No. 1 Venus Williams of the United States, Zhang Shuai of China, defending champion Karolina Pliskova of the Czech Republic, Austria's Patricia Mayr-Achleitner and Japan's Ayumi Morita having affirmed their participation.
